I was in your exact position up until about 2 months ago...I had pined for a Z for years, and then decided I needed one. I was *this* close to buying a modded (clutch, pulley, chip, exhaust, stereo) 92 TT pearl white, with 85k. But the guy had no service records and honestly didn't know anything about the car. that freaked me out, and I ended up getting a '96 Cali Green TT from a fellow TT.net-er at a great price. Granted, it had 108k but he had just performed the 120k service and had pretty much all the service records. It drives like a dream--and it is an actual dream come true. Wait for the right one, is my advice. They are out there.
